Privacy Policy

Scope

This policy describes ApplyLane version 0.10.1, a Chrome extension for saving job listings and organizing applications. The ApplyApp website has a separate website privacy policy.

Information stored on your device

ApplyLane stores saved job records, including the title, company, location, salary text, description, source URL, platform, application status, notes, follow-up date, and timestamps in Chrome local storage. It also stores extension settings, local sync state, and a randomly generated feedback identifier. You can export job records as CSV or JSON, import a JSON backup, delete individual records, or clear the board.

Optional account and cloud sync

The board works locally without an account. If you explicitly set up sync, ApplyLane sends your email address, authentication information, saved job records, and sync metadata to its Supabase service for authentication, backup, and cross-device sync. ApplyLane does not store your account password directly; authentication is handled by the service. Account, cloud backup, and local records have separate deletion controls.

Feedback and support

If you choose “Talk to ApplyLane,” the extension sends the message and any contact detail you enter, along with the extension version, locale, anonymous feedback identifier, and aggregate board metrics shown by the feedback workflow. This information is used to reply to and improve support. Feedback is not sent merely because the extension is installed.

Payments

If you choose a paid plan, checkout and billing management are handled by Stripe through ApplyLane’s service. ApplyLane does not receive or store your complete payment-card number.

Chrome permissions

Permission	Purpose
`activeTab`	Temporarily reads the job listing tab after you activate ApplyLane so the listing can be saved.
`scripting`	Runs the listing extractor in the active tab after your action.
`storage`	Stores the local application board, settings, feedback state, and sync queue.
Optional Supabase host access	Connects to ApplyLane’s service when you use account sync, feedback, or related account features.

Retention and deletion

Local records remain in the Chrome profile until you delete them, clear the board, or remove the extension and Chrome removes its storage. Export a JSON backup before uninstalling if you need to keep the board. For optional cloud data, use the in-extension cloud-backup and account deletion controls. Feedback conversations may be retained as needed to provide support and maintain service records.
